Bride and groom posing for portraits

Wooton Park Wedding Photography

This was some great Wooton Park wedding photography that I won’t ever forget, because it had everything that I look for in a wedding – a bit of drama, excitement, and it was very, very unique and enabled me to create real wedding photography. Jake and Abby had booked me as a wedding photography referral from a previous wedding client.

And this is something that I get quite a lot of, which clearly shows that I’m doing something correct!

The couple had booked their day for the 29th of October 2021 at a lovely venue called Wooton Park, Henley in Arden. I arrived early to do my usual bridal prep and wasn’t disappointed by Abby and her bridal party in full flow with the music playing and the champagne popping.

Pop downstairs to grab some quick photos of Jake and his brothers, who were not so much brothers and more of a little gang with the same surname. Honestly at this point in the wedding, I knew I was in for a cracking day as I was having so much fun and I’d only been there for about an hour.

As we went through the day, it was emotional. The ceremony was emotional. The drinks reception was emotional. Every single part of the day just seemed effortless. And I’m sure Abby and Jake had the best day because I know I certainly did. I was able to sneak the couple off in the middle of the day for my customary portrait sessions. Just 5-10 minutes here and there, so not to disrupt their actual wedding day too much.

But it seemed to work really well as the weather patterns for the day were slightly erratic to say the least, one minute it would be absolutely beautiful sunshine the next a downpour of rain, one minute glorious yellow light the next cold and blue and everyone’s scurrying inside, clutching umbrellas and their drinks. Really quite a sight to see.

After the speeches, we went outside and created some low light photography after dark which is sort of my favourite style of photography to create. And then we did the infamous sparkler tunnel which ties in beautifully with the Bonfire Night narrative. Abby had a special request though for the end of the night. She wanted a photo of her and Jake sneaking off to enjoy some of the street food vendors that they’d booked for the evening feast. Who was I to say no.

So we’d grabbed a pizza, randomly behind the pizza truck and just let them act like naughty teenagers out of the school disco. It was brilliant. It was documentary. It was real and it was authentic. And more than anything, it was Abby and Jake being themselves.

Here’s what the lovely couple had to say about me on a Google review

“Chris is so much more than a photographer. From the moment we spoke on Zoom, it was clear that he has the insight and the desire to capture moments which truly reflect us as a couple.

His regular and clear communication, and our pre-shoot photos really put us at ease knowing that we were going to get excellent photos on the big day.

During the course of our wedding day, Chris’s experience was invaluable both in capturing great photos and keeping things running smoothly at the venue! We really felt that he was working 100% for us, and we’re both so pleased with the results!”
