Laura & Ricky – Dec 2023

Chris… The BEST wedding photographer out there! Where do we even begin with recommending Chris? From the moment we first saw his portfolio of work, we knew we had to get him to work with us on the day. In all honesty, we were a little anxious about the thought of being ‘on camera’ all day with neither of us being the most confident in front of the lens. However, from the moment Chris arrived at the venue on the morning, he was so calming, warm, approachable, FUNNY… he just felt like an old friend and we just loved having him as a GUEST at our wedding. He truly captured the essence, personality and soul of our little man, and for that, we’re forever grateful.

Charlotte & Mick – Jan 2024

Absolute legend, so creative, funny, brilliant photographer. Couldn’t recommend enough. Perfect for us and our wedding, if your looking for top notch, beautiful and creative photography you will not be disappointed. Chris worked so well with trying to make me more comfortable in front of the lens, worked the room brilliantly and has produced amazing photographs of our wedding.

Adele & Jack – Oct 2023

In case you decide not to read on, BOOK CHRIS, it will be the BEST wedding planning decision you make. The photos will last a lifetime, get them done right!

Chris was our photographer earlier this year and we could not be happier with choosing Chris. We had no clue where to begin when choosing a wedding photographer, we didn’t have any recommendations for the area so we went to our venues recommended supplier list. If I’m honest, all the options just seemed the same until we came across Chris.

Chris’ work literally jumped out the screen at us and I said straight away, I want be on his page one day!

I’m a Birmingham Wedding Photographer – Be sure to check out my FAQ section below:

Do we need to choose a local wedding photographer?

Firstly there’s no such thing as local wedding photographer, so don’t worry about choosing “a photographer near me”, my work has taken me all over the globe. See our elopement section here, so distance isn’t an issue.

I only charge travel expenses if the shoot is outside England / Wales and have set transparent supplements for destination weddings an example of one of these elopements can be seen here.

In my opinion the two biggest questions you’ll ask yourself or about style and pricing.

Which wedding photography style do you shoot in?

We specialise in informal wedding photography, and my images are edgy and creative wedding photography at its best. I’m not a traditional practitioner, as I am more interested in colourful and unusual wedding photography, so if you were after something more orthodox then we would not be a good fit. Style is an important part of my delivery, and if I had to describe it in one phrase, I’d say I was a reportage wedding photographer.

This means your photography will have an emotional connection, will be candid and created in a relaxed and fun manner.
A great showcase of the work I create can be obviously found in our portfolio (insert internal portfolio link here), but its also well worth checking out Instagram as there’s a much greater number of lovely images waiting for you there.

So, you love my work, but you are not getting married in the UK – No problem! Find our more about the Destination Wedding Photography that I offer.

Not much could be more exciting than a destination wedding outside of the UK, there’s a world full of history and beauty out there, including the locations of some of the greatest love stories of all time.

Over the years I’ve been lucky enough to shoot a lot of destination weddings (where the couple get married abroad surrounded by family and friends) and wedding elopements (where the couple disappear just the two of them for a more intimate ceremony) I tend to then shoot portraits afterwards. Both are brilliant fun.

Usually when I shoot a destination wedding, I arrive a few days before so I’m available to shoot rehearsal dinners, pool parties, or family get together’s before the actual big day. Then when the actual wedding day is here, we shoot all day, have an amazing time and then I usually return home the next day.

Over the years I’ve shot destination wedding photography in Jamaica, St Lucia, New York (x 3), Las Vegas (x 2), Thailand, Cyprus (x 3), Florence, Venice, Zante, Alicante, Slovenia, Sweden (x 2), Iceland and Santorini.

I bring my energy, skill, and passion with me on every shoot, but especially on destination weddings where we will inevitability spend more time together.

So, what’s the cost… show me the money you say!

Ok, ok, so the way I work is transparent, you choose the package you want, then add on £500 for European weddings, and £1,250 for Caribbean / North & South American / Asia weddings. This extra cost covers all my additional expenses, I’ll quote you a price and that’ll be the price you pay. The reality is that when you arrange weddings abroad you’ll pay a fortune on resort or local photographers anyway, and usually you’ll be really fortunate if you connect with a photographer over there that understands your wants.

So, you may as well book me and get exactly what you do want!

But don’t just take my word for it, here’s Dan & Laura who I worked with in New York last year.

NYC Elopement Wedding Photography (in the City)

“We were never going to have a ‘normal’ wedding and we also knew that we wanted something more exciting and artistic than traditional wedding photography. As soon as we came across Chris’ stand at the Birmingham NEC Wedding Fair we knew he was the one we wanted to capture our elopement to New York City!

From the point of booking with Chris, communication was great, and we received regular updates. We had our final meeting with Chris about a month before we went to NYC, which was very exciting as we narrowed down what the plan was and he gave us ideas for things we hadn’t even considered for our photographs.

For our wedding we had arranged 2 days of photography, on the day before the wedding we had our engagement shoot and then our wedding photos on the actual day.

On both days Chris calmed our nerves and put us both at ease of being in front of the camera, surprisingly quickly considering we often had an audience of strangers!

Chris slipped seamlessly into the day, we had 2 guests so there were 5 of us in total and it felt like we had always known each other, it was never awkward, a lot of fun and a completely professional service.

Chris is so incredibly talented at what he does, our photographs are beautiful, and we will treasure them forever, everyone who has seen them has told us that they are the best wedding photos they have ever seen!

We would 100% recommend Chris for your elopement, he makes the whole process so easy and stress free, listens to what you want and the work he produces for you is outstanding. He is a great guy and you will have a lot of fun on what is already a very special day!”

What exactly is an engagement shoot, and do we need one?

Another thing to consider, and I highly recommend it is to do a “pre wedding shoot” or engagement photography shoot. These are invaluable, and in my opinion well worth the time and energy! Essentially, we get together (I usually do all of my engagement photography in Leicestershire) and chat, laugh and take some photos, more details can be found here.

Do we get the rights to all of the wedding photography? How many photos do we receive after the big day?
All our packages include your full wedding gallery, fully art worked and available on a beautiful and bespoke online wedding gallery. These are available in high resolution and are fully downloadable. In our investment section we have different packages that reflect different choices, but we do recommend a wedding album to remember your day by. Our most popular choice is our Artbook option.

Do you have any wedding photography reviews that we can look at?

Now, I know what you’re thinking, yes, I do seem like a cool wedding photographer, but how can I trust websites? Good point! Well you should definitely check out our Facebook page and give us a like and read any one of our 250+ five star reviews… yes that’s right 250+ FIVE STAR REVIEWS!

How soon should we book you? How do we book? We’ve not even got a date yet!

We like all the most popular alternative wedding photographers I book up years in advance, and I only shoot 40 weddings a year. This is a hard and fast rule. So, get in touch, pull that trigger, drop us a message and let’s have a conversation about how we can work together.
