Foxtail Barns Wedding Photography

Nadine and John Jo reached out to me after they found me on their wedding venues preferred supplier list, Foxtail Barns Wedding Photography. Their venue was the foxtail barns and as I’m a recommended supplier they fell in love with my bright, brash and colourful confetti wedding photography and reached out for me to photograph their summer wedding photography.

Despite being religious and having family members within the clergy I don’t think I’ve met a couple as non-serious and joyful on their wedding day for quite a number of years.

Getting ready with the couple at the venue was a joy, Nadine was full of silliness and making little jokes. John Jo, by comparison, seemed a little nervous. But then that might have been because he was surrounded by his groomsmen, parents, father-in-law and brother-in-law. After gift exchanges, hugs, tears and lots of laughter Nadine was in the dress, and I shot a first look with Nadine`s father, who was overwhelmed at seeing his daughter in a wedding dress for the first time.

It was then over to the church for the Catholic ceremony where I shot some really nice photography in the church, the priest giving me whatever access I needed as his attitude was “it’s the couple’s day not mine”. Afterwards, we walked out into a confetti storm. Confetti really is one of my Favorite things to photograph. And Nadine and John Jo’s personality is perfectly suited to the crazy nature of it.

Afterwards, we headed over to Foxtail Barnes, a venue that I love. The weather was absolutely brilliant and the couple was straight into their drinks reception, chatting to guests and generally having a ball. I managed to grab some nice portraits in the day, but seeing as the sun was so high and very harsh, we left a lot of their portraits to later when it was very dusky.

These portraits were fantastic. By that point, John Jo had delivered his speech and he was a different man. He fully embraced Nadine`s crazy and no idea was off the table as far as these two were concerned.

We even reshot a second confetti photo because they simply haven’t had enough fun in the first one. Truly, I wish every wedding couple was as easy-going and just a joy to work with. I’d met them previously for their pre wedding shoot and it was just so funny. I was a bit taken aback by how relaxed and candid Nadine was. Truly she doesn’t really have a filter. If something’s bothering her or she’s got a question she just blurts it out, which in this day and age, I find really refreshing.

Foxtail Barnes really is an amazing wedding venue and I’m so lucky that I get to shoot there so often.
