Wedding couple in sunshine

From Birmingham to Glencoe – Elopement Wedding Photography

On a gloriously sunny day in September, I moved away from being a Birmingham Wedding Photographer and jetted to the Scottish highlands, as the beautiful Vanessa & her Scotsman Nathan explored the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park before exchanging promises of love in a traditional hand fasting ceremony in the infamous Glencoe region. I am thrilled to be sharing this special Scottish Wedding with you today and the awesome work of Nadia from Amulet Events.

Starting in Glasgow we explored the hidden streets & artistic graffiti within this historic city before heading off for the mesmerising Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park. Starting with our first hike up Ben A’an, the views across the Loch Katrine Trossachs and nearby mountains were truly captivating.

Loch Lomond is Britain’s largest inland stretch of water at 24 miles and is a well-known starting point to the Scottish Highlands. Here we explored the infamous mountains, lochs, forests and glens, totally enchanted by each view that greeted us.
Our next stop took us to the Falls of Dochart where our couple braved the rocks to enjoy the white waters cascading down the stunning waterfalls that run through the small town of Killin.

After a quick lunch break it was on to the infamous Buachaille Etive Mor. After a drive through Skyfall region and with views of Three Sisters mountain behind, we were instantly drawn to this area with the cutest little bridged waterfall and Black Rock Cottage behind.

Wedding couple in Glencoe

The most romantic of outdoor ceremony locations, this is one of the best known and loved of all the Munro peaks. Our couple made promises to one another via the old Scottish tradition of an Oathing stone, followed by the ancient ritual of a hand fasting Ceremony. All perfectly performed by the incredibly warm, knowledgeable and bubbly celebrant Gail of the Humanist Society Scotland.
Our final stop took us to the 100ft depth of Finnich Glen, also known as Devils Pulpit. This steep gorge covered in green moss was used to film scenes of King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. With a rust colour stream created by the rainwater mixing with the red sandstone following through the gorge, this place is truly magical and ethereal. The perfect ending to a adventurous and romantic elopement for Scottish Highlands Elopement, Glencoe, Devils Pulpit & Loch Lomond.

So much love for the awesome Nadia from Amulet Events for her incredible creativity & ideas in putting everything together.

A huge thank you to all other suppliers involved including the amazing Bloemen Florist in Glasgow for the stunning bouquet, flower crown & buttonhole, MacGregor and MacDuff for the incredible kilts & accessories and Gail for officiating.
