Boho Wedding Photography

So, this is a quite different kind of shoot – a boho wedding photography styled shoot! Talk about serious festival wedding photography vibes!

What’s a stylised shoot I hear you ask though; aren’t they just fake shoots? A waste of time?

You even think that shit and I will slap you so hard. Nothing fake about art.

Before I became a full time wedding tog, I shot a lot of fashion and band work. I absolutely loved the editorial fashion style; I loved the creativity of it and the pace of the work was different to the hectic pace of wedding shoots.

These kinds of shoots always had mood boards, ideas, and were always about pushing boundaries.

Falling back into my older mindset, over time I have discovered that styled shoots are an incredibly important and integral part of becoming the kind of wedding photographer you want to be.

Not only does allow you to kick out the jams with your creativity it also brings you together with wonderful wedding industry suppliers.

This shoot was organised by the people at KillerFiller, and was imagined as a boho, or bohemian themed shoot. The shoot took place at The Happy Valley Glamping site in Norfolk, and its such a great space. Then we wrapped up the day at the beach, were obviously it pissed it down with rain!

These kind of shoots are often a lot of fun, as well as very “gung Ho” with photographers thinking it’s a paparazzi style “ get in each other’s way” kind of competition, and this was no different. For me though I was able to pick my shots, and create great content, often by observing where everybody else was grouping ( or blocking lol ) and just choosing different locations and angles.

It genuinely helped that the couple were together in “real life” as intimacy cannot be faked.

The models Maison & Meghan were true heroes, and despite the freezing cold they managed to convince the camera that they were not freezing cold!
