Confetti

2021 – A year in review.

So 2021 – What a year for my amazing wedding photography. As a Birmingham wedding photographer, I’d forgotten how beautiful this country is, as I’ve travelled most of it this year! I`m so lucky to be able to supply different wedding photography, and it’s a good thing I enjoy being on the road!

Confetti

We started the year as a nation in a sense of lockdown, in a sense of anxiety and fear.

I didn’t know when I’d be able to reopen my business again.

And my clients didn’t know if their weddings would be able to go ahead.

And if they were able to go ahead, how those weddings would actually look.

Thankfully 2021 didn’t let us down. This year, I managed to complete 68 weddings. I managed to combine most of last year’s postponements and cancellations into this year as well.

Moving all of my 2020 clients, 2021 saw 18 months worth of work condensed into a very sharp six month period.

Now in January 2021 as I sit back and relax with a coffee with the central heating on, I’m able to reflect on how insane it all really was.

I was roughly shooting two to three weddings a week. As well as running my business, managing people’s expectations and dealing with a flood of new inquiries that came from my very successful Birmingham national wedding show.

The start of the year, as I said was an interesting one, I was faced with a three month lockdown, where I had to close my business.

I spent that time looking at my work, reflecting on it and entering awards that I thought were important to me.

And that reflected the vast majority of my work it gives me a great sense of pride to say that I was successful in practically every single award nomination, including the big one that I won in November 2021 actually being present in Copenhagen, where I won the way up north photograph of the year.

That was huge for me.

Looking forward to 2022 It’s all about growth.

It’s all about YouTube, Patreon and building out my business to not only be a photographer, but to try and be an educator as well. So keep your eyes peeled.

I hope you’re enjoying what I’m doing. And if you haven’t yet subscribed to my channel on YouTube, please click this link and do follow me on Instagram. And follow me on Facebook where I promise to be more active socially.

So 2021 rocked. Enjoy the show!
