2020 Weddings – A Year In Review
Here it is! My round up of my 2020-year shooting during a very unusual time! As a Leicester Wedding Photographer, I have travelled the world (well up until March anyway) with a highlight being a destination wedding photography shoot at Sweden’s Ice Hotel (that I blogged about here) as well as lots of Midlands based Wedding Photography.
Micro weddings have been extremely popular this year, as my couple have fought hard to keep their days on track. But certainly, days have been scaled back, plans altered, dates postponed, but I managed to complete fifteen weddings this year, when originally, I had a diary of forty weddings.
I`ve also rediscovered my love of my own photography too, and I`ve thrown myself into my own self-initiated projects and I am loving them! Previously I used to create my own work working the pseudonym of Jericho1, and successfully exhibited four different times so this is something that I will be returning to that in 2021. Extremely exciting times.
2020 was also the year I won numerous awards, far too many to name (but at least nine different bodies have thought I rock this year, which is awesome!).
This year has really been about catching my breath, refocusing and investing in my business. I`ve invested in business training, new editing programs, nearly £2000 worth of new lens, and lots of new social media bits and pieces to make everything smooth and beautiful.
All the lovely couples I worked with this year, be it for their weddings, pre wedding shoots, or portrait shoots have been optimistic, and this lovely cross section of humanity has really opened my eyes with their experiences and opinions towards this horrible epidemic.
But we will win. Love will win. It always does.
2021 is going to be my busiest year ever with a record number of wedding bookings for me, and surprisingly an insane amount of wedding enquiries for new bookings! So, love is winning.
So, to round up. 2020 was a kick in the balls. But 2021 is going to be different, HUGELY different.
Stay strong, was your hands, I love you.
2021 I am coming to get you.
