Wedding with sparklers

Winter wedding photography – Sparklers & Dogs (But not together!)

Kelly & Sam had seen me at The National Wedding Show at Birmingham NEC, and seeing as I am a Midlands wedding photographer, I was surprised that I`d never seen their venue before – the amazing Redhouse Barn in Bromsgrove!

Meeting me in person at wedding shows are really good ways to connect with me and see if we`re a good fit, and I think Kelly & Sam thought this straight away!

They got married in December, and we had the usual mix of bright light, cold nights and lots of lovely opportunities for some documentary wedding photography that is my stock in trade, and some amazing sparkler moments in the evening. I really do enjoy this creative wedding photography look at night, playing around with silhouettes and lights. Makes me an incredibly happy wedding photographer.

I started the day how I usually do, with bridal prep, and when Sam arrived with the boys, I was able to grab some cool photography of them. One of the highlights for me was capturing that “First look” on dads face as he saw her for the first time. Timeless.

Next we were into the ceremony and it was a very emotional time.

But the main star of the show was the couple’s adorable puppy! OMG he was an absolute beauty. It is a nice idea when couples arrange for their furry family to join them for some photos on the day, and there is quite a few highly reputable companies out there that`ll help you out with this.

We were super blessed with the dusk, and I was able to whip the couple out for some lovely images before the speeches, which were hilarious. As you can probably tell from Sam`s face he got pretty stitched up!

The evening was spent outside capturing the previously mentioned images, and its always a great idea to think ahead and invest in something lovely and bridal to keep you warm for these winter weddings. The temps barely get over 2 degrees at night, especially in the middle of the countryside, so it really could make a huge difference to your photography.

After we`d created some frankly amazing images at night it was party time! Bands are awesome for the evening and seeing it was nearly the festive period, everybody was ready to party!
