Lake Bled – Destination Wedding Delight

So, I’m obviously not just a UK Wedding Photographer as I traveled to Lake Bled, Slovenia for this amazing destination wedding.

Abi & Jay had met me a few years ago as I had photographed Abi’s bridesmaid Kelly’s wedding in New York (See here!). So it was awesome to catch up again overseas!

They loved my photojournalistic wedding photography style, so delivering candid wedding photography was really important to me.

Luckily, we were blessed with some knock out weather on the day. Considering the day afterwards it just tipped it down, the sun just blazed away for them.

The couple had seen me at The National Wedding Show where I had my latest wedding books and portfolio, so two years later it was time to go and rock their wedding!

The couple were after some really creative Wedding Photography for their big day. They loved my documentary style wedding photography as well, so I really pushed myself to deliver both aspects for them.

The couples two children played a huge part in the wedding, and they were as proud as punch during the ceremony.

As I mentioned we were blessed with some amazing weather during their day. And so after the ceremony on the shoreline at the Grand Hotel Topice, we were off to the chapel on the actual island for the drink’s reception and religious ceremony.

It’s such a great location to work in, and it offered some amazing views of the town. What an amazing backdrop for the portraits!

The couple were very at ease during the day, laughing and joking alot. So when it came to their portraits, it was super easy as the couple did not want to do anything too posed. I was able to convince to try a few dynamic images to compliment the more candid portraits and thankfully they ended up loving them!

Destination Wedding Photography is a fantastic way to see the world, but I also create these great relationships with my couples as we’re sharing such a unique experience.

Lake Bled really was a fantastic location, and it was nice to get away from my usual shooting locations i.e. farm barns or manor houses, not that there’s anything wrong with them. Sometimes a change is as good as a rest!
