Destination wedding – Iceland adventures
I love a great destination wedding, and Raquel and Manu`s elopement / adventure session in Iceland was no different!
I`m not just anchored as a Birmingham Wedding Photographer, and this shoot came about through the wonderful people at Way Up North. Its always better when other people do all the organising (or heavy lifting as I call it!) as I can just concentrate on creating some awesome wedding photography.
I`d honestly advise booking a wedding planner if you are considering a destination wedding, and I would recommend Nadia at Amulet Events. Seriously, these bookers arrange everything and even the things you will not have thought of like drivers, interrupters etc.
The couple met years ago as they are photographers and videographers, and a few years later they began to work together and sometime much later, they fell in love. Now they are a couple personally and professionally.
They are based in Barcelona, Spain and wanted something quite different for their wedding portraits.
And Iceland is HUGELY different I think we can agree.
So, we`d hired the 4×4 jeeps, and wrapped up warm, because it was soooooo cold, and off we went for any adventure! I`d love to be able to name where we went and where we photographed, but I just do not know. I was more concentrated on not freezing and keeping my cameras from misting up.
We had some awesome crew that knew exactly where to take us, including up extremely high into the mountains where I was able to capture some fantastic portraits of the couple.
From black stone beaches to frosty mountain tops, Iceland does not disappoint when it comes to photo locations.
Raquel really had to grit her teeth for some of the photography as the biting winds seemed to just whip out of nowhere, and this led to some great moments where Manu had to wrap his bride up to keep her warm. There was one magical moment where we drove past some wild Icelandic ponies and Raquel jumped out for q quick cuddle! The ponies were so friendly and happy, I managed to worm my way across the floor to get right up close to one of them. They were a real delight!
