The Westmill Wedding Photography
Being based in Leicester I’m quite commonly known for working around the Midlands as a wedding photographer ( and as a Derbyshire wedding photographer ), and being known as a supplier of Westmill Wedding photography is brilliant. And one of my absolute favourite venues to work at is a venue called the West mill in Derby. So it was awesome that a couple of years ago, when Holly and Alex stumbled across my stand at the NEC national wedding show, and we instantly hit it off, and they decided to book me as their wedding photographer for the April 2022 Wedding at the West mill wedding photos in Derby.
For those that don’t know, the West mill is a converted barn or a mill. The answers in the question really, isn’t it? It’s called the West mill.
So you would imagine lots of texture period. Old machine pieces, details and quirky things for a photographer to play with. And you would be absolutely correct. It is an amazing venue and a photographers playpen. Throw into the mix that Holly and Alex are brilliant clients too.
They’ve got a keen eye for detail. They know what they want, but they’re really happy to be directed as well. It really was one of those weddings where everything came together.
We had amazing weather and I got to shoot some really fun bridal prep with Holly and the gang and then shooting some photos of Alex with the lads in the pub.
Then the ceremony was upon us. Holly swept down the aisle, Alex looked nervous, and I was able to get some really good quality of interaction photos. That’s really one of the things that I look for most during a wedding. People always ask me what do I photograph at weddings and my honest answer is this. I just photograph people being people. It really is as simple as that.
This wedding had everything that I enjoy an amazing confetti photo, some smoke bomb photos, and amazing wedding veil photo. Really we threw everything at this wedding and Holly and Alex did not disappoint at all.
Particularly at the end of the night when it came time for the first dance. As Alex, who is a musician actually jumped up to start singing. It was amazing.
I couldn’t have asked for an absolutely better ending to a frankly Belter of a day.
