Winstanley House wedding photography – Indian Wedding photography
Nikesh and Poonam booked me for their amazing Winstanley House wedding photography after seeing my work, as I was referred to them by my good friend Hema, who`s wedding I’d shot nearly ten years ago! Growing up in Leicester obviously Indian culture is a huge part of my DNA, and whilst Indian Wedding photography sometimes has the reputation for being quite loud and over the top at times, Nikesh and Poonam were very clear that they wanted me to apply my style of photography to their great day.
So, the couple elected to take a wedding pre shoot with me first to settle their nerves, and generally hang out, and it was nice to be able to deliver some Leicester Wedding Photography, as usually I’m shooting somewhere in the Midlands, mostly because of my relationship with the National Wedding show and my exhibitions at the NEC.
Their venue was Winstanley House in Leicester, set amid parkland with its illustrious history and contemporary renovation, Winstanley House is the place to get married in Leicester if you ask me.
The venue is a grade II listed Georgian house located just outside of Leicester city centre with 19 stunning bedrooms, two elegant ballrooms, a modern British restaurant, private dining room and beautiful terraces all set in 168 acres of rolling public parkland. So, plenty of scope to create some awesome Indian wedding photography.
After shooting some mega bridal prep with Poonam, Nikesh arrived with the traditional dhol players, and it was plenty noisy abut so much fun! The ceremony was traditional, and we arranged to capture the family phots straight afterwards, so the couple had plenty of time to enjoy their wedding and chat to friends and family. The venue has its own private gardens, so I captured some great portraits there, and the evening event was fun as well with a great disco for dancing.
Indian weddings are known for their dance floors and this was no exception and the DJ`s knew how to work up the crowd, it was so nice to be able to create some Winstanley House wedding photography after being dormant for so long after the pandemic.
