Winstanley House – Aisling & Ben
So this was my first wedding of 2023 ( Winstanley House wedding photography ) and I wanted to absolutely start off on the right foot. Aisling and Ben are Leicester natives, after some amazing Leicester Wedding photography and have booked the wonderful Winstanley House for their wedding reception ( January wedding photography ) and Winstanley House had recommended me to them for the photography, so after a brief zoom conversation, I was booked.
Ben is a professional cricketer, and Aisling owns a number of bars in town. And so they were very specific about what they wanted. What they really wanted was something relaxed, informal and fun.
They didn’t want anything that was too stuffy or old fashioned, which obviously suits me down to the ground. It was a January wedding, which is always fun as the lighting can be hard and that day was no exception. Blue skies and sunshine all round, and pretty warm too.
Also Jan weddings are extra fun because people are ready to party. Aislings day was towards the end of January, so people have gone through Christmas and New Year. They’ve had a couple of weeks of staying in, and now they’re ready to party again.
I started the day traditionally as I usually do which is with some bridal prep with Aisling and then got over to the Catholic Church where the ceremony was held. The Catholic church actually held a very strong familiar connection to Aislings family, as the family attended that church numerous times.
Ben arrived with his best man on crutches. Don’t ask why the best man was on crutches. The things I see at weddings honestly.
After the ceremony we were straight over to Winstanley House, definitely one of Leicester’s premier wedding receptions and venues for Leicester wedding photography, and we managed to get some amazing confetti shots in front and captured the group shots quickly.
At night we created a chaotic sparkler shot as a few guests had over indulged a bit, but it added to the energy!
I’m really pleased with the imagery that we were able to create for this January wedding photography. The couple then went back inside and by the time the band and DJ had got set up, we were ready for the first dance which was quite emotional.
Ashley and Ben are two of my favourite couples. If every wedding in 2023 is going to be as good as this one, then something tells me I am going to have a fantastic time in 2023 wedding photography.
