Thorpe Garden Wedding Photography – May micro wedding.
Ped and Hayley had seen my beautiful wedding photography (if I do say so myself) in the save the date magazine when I was featured in an article. They were after some relaxed wedding photography for their Thorpe Garden wedding, and it seemed like a great fit.
So after an email, a zoom, and a chat I was booked!
It was an instant connection with these two, super fun and I am glad they decided to boom in for a wedding preshoot with me, as I really got to know the couple before the big day, and we could relax knowing that there wasn’t going to be any awkward moments.
The couple had booked the amazing Thorpe Gardens for their special day, a venue I knew well alive worked at a majority of the Cripps farm wedding venues across the country. These venues are right up my street as there just beautiful and suit my style of reportage and relaxed wedding photography down to the ground.
The couple actually booked me for two dates one in May (the actual wedding) and one in August this year ( the party!!!!) Due to the covid restrictions. They were not going to postpone their day, no way sir!
Luckily, we had some frankly awesome weather for the May date, and so I started as usual with the bride at the couple’s home capturing all the turmoil of pre wedding nerves and excitement. Then it was over to the venue to catch up with the lads, who I have to say made an extremely poor showing of knowing how to tie up a bowtie. Seriously lads! Embarrassing for rhyme, great for me as it made photography gold as they one by one tried and failed to sort out their wedding attire.
The ceremony was magic, Ped broke down and sobbed as Hayley walked down the aisle as she was given away by her mother and it really reminded me of why I love this job.
Afterwards there was a lush drinks reception in the grounds of the venue, and then it was back to the couple’s home for a garden party!
There extensive back yard was decked out with cute little tables and chairs and had a real boho and festival feel to it as drinks were poured, food was consumed (including the most amazing sausage rolls I have ever tasted) and they had a right old time just chilling and chatting to music.
All in all, an absolute belter of a day.
