The Old Vicarage Boutique Hotel – Hayley & Dom
Haley and Dom had booked me for their old Vicarage boutique hotel wedding photography after hearing me refer to them from a close friend whose wedding I’d shot. They were after some fun wedding photography and seeing as I’m only based in Leicester it was easy to jump in the car and head over for some Nottingham wedding photography.
The old Vicarage boutique hotel is a wonderful venue to get married at its small enough so that it’s quaint and intimate but large enough to feel that guests have the space to roam particularly at Haley and Dom’s wedding as the sun was shining and guests could explore the grounds.
One of the things that was important to me that day was capturing Hayley’s fathers reaction as he saw it in her dress for the first time and I wanted to try and do something different this time with this Nottingham Wedding photography. So what I did was included Hayley’s two sisters and mum into what is essentially a family portrait. I feel the results speak for themselves.
The ceremony was held outside and it’s absolutely beautiful where the staff have placed a small pagoda and it’s quite a daunting walk for Haley and her father all the way up to the aisle and it certainly raised Dominic’s nerves walking seeing Haley walking all that way. What didn’t help Dominic on the day was that he had a slight hangover but as soon as he saw Hayley big smile crossed his face and I’m sure everything was fine.
The couple had two small girls and they played a big part in the wedding celebrations. Outdoor wedding ceremonies really are special, mostly because the registrars give us photographers a lot more freedom and particularly for Nottingham wedding photography the registrars are very liberal in their approach to what we can and cannot capture.
After a triumphant exit down the aisle to confetti the couple settled into their drinks reception, with guests chatting and laughing and loving. This enabled me to capture lots of Candide and fun wedding photography.
Eventually it was time to head in and the speeches were short and sweet definitely the way I like them. I prefer it when they’re to the point and direct because I seem to get more emotion out of the participants then when the speeches are over long and the formalities seem dragged out.
All in all it was some lovely old Vicarage boutique hotel wedding photography, definitely helped by the couple’s cool and calm demeanour and the attitude of their friends family and friends who just wanted to have fun.
