Rushton Hall Wedding Photography – Megan & Connor
Megan and Connor had booked me to do their wonderful Northampton wedding photography after Meghan ‘s makeup artist had seen me at a wedding two years previously and had recommended me to Megan. Their chosen the wonderful venue of Rushton hall in Northampton I venue that I know very well an event you that I enjoy working in a lot. It was a bright and very very warm June day when I arrived on site and it was great to be working with old friends such as Craig from amazing days video and Alan Hodges toastmaster. Megan and Connor wanted something different for their Rushton hall wedding photography and having done a pre wedding shoot with me it became obvious that I wanted to concentrate on their families and their relationships with their friends rather than putting the two of them on a pedestal. Their day had more of an editorial wedding photography field as Megan looked absolutely stunning in her gown I’m Connor just looked Immaculate it is 3 piece suit.
Rushton hall is a fantastic venue to work at it’s very light it’s bright and it’s spacious enough so that the bride gets her bridal suite in the morning and the boys get to use the snooker room to get ready. This suited the editorial wedding photography look the couple wanted.
This informed my photography approach in the morning and I wanted to make sure that I was spending equal time with Connor as well as Megan. The ceremony was fantastic and Connor ‘s brother was his best man and he shed some tears as Megan came down the aisle, felt to me like he saw Megan as a little sister as Connor and Megan had been together for so long. After the ceremony it was straight outside for a confetti photo and some limited group photos, I wanted to keep these clear quite short and sweet as it was really hot and people just wanted to get a drink.
I then moved into a more documentary photography approach capturing Connor and Megan enjoying the day with their friends and family. In the middle of the wedding breakfast your lovely couple had arranged a surprise singing waiters. These two surprise singers brought the house down and had everybody up on their feet partying.
After the singing waiters and the speeches it was lovely being able to get the couple out as the light dipped and I was able to play with some really beautiful golden hour photography after this it was straight onto the dance floor for the band and it was so much fun partying the night away.
