Micro Wedding – Bath & Cotswolds
I’m not just anchored to Birmingham Wedding Photography, as I’m really lucky that I get to work all over the world, as well as some lovely little spots in this country – and this wedding was no exception.
Luke & Victoria had met me a few years ago at The National Wedding Show, and had booked me for their April 2020 wedding…can you guess what happened though?
Yes, they had to postpone due that pesky Covid thing, and rebooked me for two VERY different shoots!
The couple loved my photojournalistic wedding photography style and my Portrait style so they decided to have the best of both worlds – a wedding in Bath city centre on the Weds, then portraits in the Cotswolds on the Thurs!
The couple had enjoyed a pre wedding shoot with me previously, and it really seemed to settle their nerves, esp during the run up to the wedding which as I`m sure you can appreciate was very stressful, with the postponements and changes. As a Birmingham Wedding Photographer I`m used to traveling all over the country, but haven’t really been to The Cotswolds before…my error! How beautiful!
The couple were after some Alternative Wedding Photography for their portrait day and loved my documentary style wedding photography for the actual wedding, so I really pushed myself to deliver both aspects for them. Esp on the Weds as the couple walked from the registry office to the venue through the streets of Bath. That was a lot of fun. Guerilla photography style!
So, the day arrived. And it was slightly wet and damp yet forecast blazing sunshine for the portrait day. Unbelievable!
The wedding was at Royal Crescent Hotel, and it is such a great location to work in – what an amazing backdrop for the portraits, though we had to dodge the shoppers who threw us some odd looks!
The couple were very at ease after the vows, laughing and joking and when it came to their portraits, it was super easy as the couple did not want to do anything too posed.
The next day brought the promised beautiful light, and we created some lovely imagery in the Cotswolds national park, and cute little villages. It was a really magical experience and a true pay off for all the hardship the couple had been through. Love wins.
This was just what I needed after the collapse of the industry due to COVID restrictions. It was so awesome being a part of their (Two) days.
