Mapperley Farm wedding photography
Lucy and Matt had booked me a long, long time ago for their music festival theme wedding, and at there venue Mapperley Farm wedding photography. They booked me in September 2018 after seeing me at a save the date wedding fair. Apparently they couldn’t stop talking about my work with smoke bombs photography and a Beauty and the Beast themed wedding that I`d shot in Stoke on Trent.
And so booked me for their wedding in July 2020. They were planning to get married in Mapperley Farm in Derbyshire, a venue that at the time I hadn’t been to, but subsequently I’ve fallen in love with it.
They were looking for a music themed wedding, as they’re both massive into music, and a musical festival seemed right up their street. Unfortunately, the pandemic in 2020 derailed their plans until 2021. Again, unfortunately the postponed date of July 2021 had to be postponed AGAIN due to the groom falling very poorly to a COVID infection.
The couple made the very difficult decision in 2021 to move their date yet again to ensure that Matt was well enough to enjoy the celebration, and 2022 July rolled around and it proved to be the best decision the couple made.
The sun was beaming down. The bridal party were in high spirits and high jinks, as the couple surrounded themselves with creative types. So the banter, the laughs and the jokes, whilst inappropriate at times was incredibly funny. It’s always lovely when I see couples surround themselves with people that they really connect with I guess you could say this was an example of them surrounding themselves with their tribe. After some really interesting bridal prep and groom prep photos, I got myself over to the venue.
Maybe it was a combination of an amazing owner Rosie. Maybe it was the beautiful weather. Maybe it was the amazing wedding guests. Who knows, there was something about this wedding at Mapperley Park wedding photography, that was just magical.
The couple got married outside, away from the soaring and blazing heat. And after that it was straight into their music inspired festival wedding I was really happy with the portraits I took of the couple as they’d had a pre wedding photo shoot with me so they really connected with me strongly. The smoke bomb photography I’m particularly pleased with!
As the night rolled on, it was time to cut the cake and then the couple had arranged a surprise. After the first dance. a brass band crashed the wedding, called back chat brass playing popular hits in the classic brass band format.
The guests were shocked, but the couple just went with it dragging friends and family onto the dance floor and everybody just seemed to have a whale of a time. Here’s what Lucy and Matt said about me on Google a few days after I delivered some photography to them from their amazing day.
“We met Chris at a wedding fair back in 2018 and were immediately wowed by his portfolio and upbeat energy. We were looking for suppliers to join our world, building a wedding festival for our special day; Chris certainly leaped in and gave us more than we could possibly imagine. We’ve seen a few sneak previews from our big day less than 24 hours later and they look incredible. We cannot wait to see the full album. Thank you for everything, Chris.
Lucy & Matt.
