F*** Y** Covid Wedding!
I’m so lucky as a Birmingham Wedding Photographer, as there are so many wedding venues in the Midlands that I enjoy shooting at – and today was no exception.
Natalie & Tom had met me a few years ago at the Save The Date wedding show, so it was awesome to catch up again as this was one of my first weddings back after COVID-19 lockdown in the UK!
The couple loved my photojournalistic wedding photography style after seeing me sneak around their pre wedding shoot, so delivering quality wedding photography was important to me.
As I said this couple had enjoyed a pre wedding shoot with me previously, and it really seemed to settle their nerves, especially during the run up to the wedding which as I’m sure you can appreciate was very stressful.
The couple were after some Creative Wedding Photography for their big day and loved my documentary style wedding photography as well, so I really pushed myself to deliver both aspects for them.
So, the wedding day arrived. And it was blazing sunshine as well as gale force winds. Unbelievable! The wedding was at Horsley Lodge and it is such a great location to work in – what an amazing backdrop for the portraits, though we had to dodge the golfers who threw us some odd looks!
The couple were very at ease after the vows, laughing and joking and when it came to their portraits, it was super easy as the couple did not want to do anything too posed. And who could forget Spiderman joining us for the vows – the bride’s brother brought his sense of humour!!
I was able to convince to try a few dynamic images to compliment the more candid portraits and thankfully they ended up loving them – the storm was in full effect at that moment as well!
This was just what I needed after the partial ‘collapse’ of the industry due to COVID-19 restrictions, but now that the restrictions have been lifted (within reason), weddings are back baby!
Heres what the couple had to say about me on a Google review:
“We met Chris at ‘Save the Date’ wedding fair. He was awesome, very likeable, and showed us photos that could have been works of art. We walked away with his card to mull things over. Within seconds, my now husband turned to me and said “we need to book that guy now” …so we did! And we were 100% right to. We had our special day on 11.09.20, a small intimate wedding due to COVID-19 restrictions, a day that was captured magically by Chris. We wanted a photographer that was able to capture our story, someone that wasn’t afraid to steer us instead of waiting to be steered, and someone that was comfortable to be around…Chris is all these things and more. He puts 100% into every shot; he even lay in the middle of the road to take some of our shots! If you find yourself impressed with his portfolio…do not shop around. Book him!”
