Colwick Hall Wedding Photography – Anea & Ryan
Ryan and Anea had booked me for their college hall wedding photography after seeing me at the Birmingham national wedding show. I was familiar with Colwick Hall, as it’s a venue in Nottingham that I’ve worked at previously. As a Nottingham wedding photographer it’s always nice to visit these magnificent country houses and I’m blessed as a Midlands wedding photographer as we do seem to have an abundance of them here in these Midlands.
Colwick Hall Hotel is a magnificent Palladian style Georgian country house mansion nestling in over sixty acres of parkland. A historic building dating back to Saxon times and once the ancestral home of Lord Byron, making it the ideal weddings and event venue in Nottingham.
I started my photography with prep photos of them getting ready, then we moved onto the church for an emotional ceremony! Ryan was in tears before it began!
Like most of my couples Ryan and Anea really wanted something very relaxed and chilled that looks story was one of meeting during lockdown and connecting as friends first before their relationship progressed. This was really obvious to me in regards to their interaction as they were laughing and joking all day.
Ryan the groom was very emotional during the day and this was easy for me to translate into beautiful photography the couple were blessed as well with a dry very sunny and bright day which made for some fantastic portraits at college hall at the church and especially for all of the confetti photos.
Here`s some lovely reviews left by the couple and the couples mum –
“Chris was amazing from the moment we met him and on the day itself. Not only was he a superb photograph, but he used his vast experience of being part of weddings to help our day run as smoothly as possible and guide us when necessary.
Chris captured our big day perfectly, all the joy, excitement and happy tears. The photographs felt really personal to us because so many of them were candid moments. Often times we saw photos capturing a moment we didn’t even know he was a part of – and we loved that about Chris! It’s what made all the photos so authentic.
A remarkable professional who we can’t recommend highly enough and wouldn’t pick anyone else for our photography had we the chance again!”
“I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Chris, whos a midlands wedding photographer, this week at my son & daughter-in-laws wedding and what can I say that hasn’t already been said… what a really great guy he is! A true professional that not only has captured by camera some epic moments of their day (we’ve only had a taster so far! I can’t wait to see the rest) but he also really cared that my son and his bride had the greatest day. He blended into their day perfectly with an infectious smile and energy, he made people laugh and smile when he needed to and all the time during the more formal photos they wanted, kept it all about enjoying the day. Most of the time though you hardly realised he was there and even my awkward teenager felt relaxed being photographed (he deserves a medal for that!)
Not only was he there doing his own bit though, but being part of the day blending in he also picked up on errors that the venue made and discreetly communicated them to make sure we could rectify things and everything went to my son & daughter-in-laws plans, so personally I can’t thank him enough for that!
In my humble opinion if you’re looking for a photographer for a special time in your life, if his diary has an available slot you would be completely crazy not to book this man. A truly lovely bloke, extremely talented photographer and I can honestly say on our family’s special day worth his weight in gold!
Thanks for everything Chris! It was lovely to meet you. You were a true superstar!”
