This is by no means an exhaustive list as every wedding is completely different but there are a number of things that I enjoy creating. The first is through the use of accessories, and by that I mean confetti and colourful smoke grenades these are so much fun to work with and can create work that is so visually exciting. The second is photography during the actual wedding ceremony which is where I move into a very documentary wedding photography style. This is really important for capturing those moments that you just want to be really authentic and timeless.

As photographers light is our language, it’s what we use to communicate different ideas and feels and so I enjoy using flash be it either direct flash or backlighting to create silhouettes so flash during the day is really important to create drama in the photography.

But using flash at night particularly during winter weddings, especially at venues like The Mill Barns, is an absolute must for wedding photographer particularly as a lot of the venues I work in as Birmingham have extensive gardens, so as a Birmingham wedding photographer it’s essential that I make sure I’ve got plenty of Birmingham wedding photography ideas ready to go for the night time weddings.
