Best Day Ever Wedding Photography – Megan & Scott
Megan and Scott had booked me for their best day ever wedding photography after seeing me, like most of my wedding couples do, at the Birmingham national wedding show. We got talking and they decided that my style of relaxed and informal photography was perfect for their foxtail Barn wedding photography in May 2023. I do really enjoy may wedding photography as the light is really beautiful, with some amazing golden hours, which is usually roundabout 6:30 to 7:30 PM roughly.
I started my wedding photography as I usually do with some bride and groom preparation photos. I already had a strong relationship with the couple as they’d chosen to take one of my pre wedding shoots before their big day, so we were all really relaxed and the couple felt very at ease with me. These pre shoots are very important as it enabled me to fit into Megan and Scott’s foxtail Barn wedding photography very easily and be very natural during the bridal prep with Megan and the groom prep with Scott. Scott’s prep was quite straight forward it honestly just involved him drinking a pint of Guinness and laughing and greeting guests as they arrived.
Megan swept down the aisle with her father and we had a very emotional ceremony where mums on both sides and various bridesmaids we’re crying or beaming with joy. Scott himself had to fight back the tears as Megan walked down the aisle and we were very lucky as foxtail Barnes has such a beautiful quality of light within the ceremony room I can highly recommend it.
After the ceremony it was straight into a drinks reception where the couple were able to chat to their 50 gas guests and this time I’m giving this time to my couples is very important to me. There’s nothing better than I enjoy photographing the looks and the laughs and the giggles on the faces for wedding guests the congratulate the new couple.
We were very lucky on this wedding as we had some beautiful golden hour photography. For those who aren’t aware what the golden hour is it’s usually a period of time from anywhere between 7:00 and 8:00 PM and it’s where the light is just golden. The name perfectly describes the look you get everything warms up I’m by manipulating my lenses and the angle of the glare I was able to create some really nice abstract feelings and shimmers from the sun.
One of my favourite photos from this session is when I sent my drone up I managed to get some absolutely beautiful sun glare from the left hand side of the frame.
We finished the day with dancing I don’t particularly proud of the of the spin that Scott and Megan managed to produce particularly as they were so nervous about the dance but when it came to it they absolutely smashed it.
