Wedding Photography & Videography

Why wedding photography is important

Wedding Photography & Videography

Video and photography at weddings go together so well and I definitely think it’s worth considering speaking to your photographer if they can either recommend a videographer for your wedding day or if they are able to offer a hybrid role. Wedding photography and video are going to be the lasting memories that you have from what is bound to be an amazing day but a day that sadly zooms by far too fast. It’s well worth investing in the best practitioners you can all finding a solution that works for you for example whilst not all of my couples can run to the expense of having a videographer as well as photography I offer a hybrid package where I shoot certain parts of the day on video as well as photography so that they do have these memories and seeing is is me just shooting in this hybrid role it means that certain situations like the bridal prep don’t become too cluttered with too many people involved. Here`s a videographer that I recommend – Home – Black Rock Films

Wedding photography and videography are important as they will be your lasting mementos and memories from an amazing day. Photography and video always work differently to each other as well although there’s a lot of similarities. The obvious one is the video will capture sound and movement whereas photography just won’t. In my opinion photography is more emotional more emotive and has more of a timelessness than video but that said there isn’t really a way that photography can compete with video when it comes to things like speeches simply be ’cause you’re going to have audio and reactions to the funny witty and emotional things that people say during these times.

One of the other differences between video and photography is that photography lead times I the time it would take to generate and create your video highlight reels etc are generally twice as long as photography and that simply because video is a time consuming endeavour editing creating curating and generally assigning highlight reels timelines is a very painstaking process I’m videographer’s often shake their head at me when I explain what my lead times are as opposed to theirs. The other main difference that I’ve identified as a photographer as opposed to a videographer is that photographers are able to use external lights like flash ( example here in my portfolio ) much more easily was videographer’s really happy just rely on whatever light is there even natural light or putting LED lights into it.

Key parts of Wedding Videography

Video works particularly well on parts of the day where there’s distinctive audio, like the ceremony, speeches and party time!

  • Bridal prep
  • Wedding entrance
  • Ceremony
  • Reception / dancing
  • Speeches

So to sum up, it’s always worth exploring your options when it comes to wedding photography and videography you definitely won’t regret it and if you are unable to find the finances to cover both speak to photographer about maybe a hybrid role which is something that I offer as most of my clients really enjoy this.

MY HIGHLIGHTS

Video and Photography go together so well, its exciting to see what can happen when two creatives come together and see a scene and situation differently. They both use light differently so be sure to book both to get the best results.

Chris captured every special moment and felt like a member of the family. We love you.
