Wedding Photography Trends
My predicted Wedding Photography Trends
So what are the wedding photography trends going to be in 2025? Well I see the industry moving back into more of a middle ground adopting more of a natural photojournalistic and documentary wedding photography approach. The last few years have seen the rise of the ultra-glamorous editorial style of wedding photography where in my opinion the wealth and opulence has been presented as the most important and interesting part of a wedding, but in my opinion this is completely wrong. I’m glad to see the industry returning more to a central ground and telling truthful honest stories rather than putting wealth on a pedestal as biggest doesn’t necessarily mean best and I feel that some of the emerging photography trends of the last few years have definitely lost sight of what couples one and the reason that they do get married.
One of the trends I see emerging is an emphasis on vibes and what I mean by this is just photography that taken out of context and by themselves it doesn’t really mean a lot but when added in with over imagery creates a tight knit and cohesive story I see brave crops interesting quirky angles and unique ways of looking at things being a huge part of the way that I move forward with my 2025 wedding photography. I also see colour playing a huge part in wedding photography and this is something that really cheers me up as using colour in my wedding photography is something that I have done for years but this year I think it will be using more a creative way colour psychology is very exciting and I think this will be used to create and add drama into specific photos. I’d also like to see an end to heavily edited wedding photography and editing styles go for a more natural true to colour feel.
Just sum it up I feel that we’re going to be moving back to a more place of honest representation in the wedding photography industry in 2025 we won’t be placing wealth and prestige on a pedestal and instead I feel we’re going to be looking for more interesting and quirky representation of our couples but equally that representation has to be honest and authentic rather than manufactured and contrived.
