Swancar Farm

Swancar Farm is fast becoming one of my favourite wedding venues to work at as it’s nestled in the Nottinghamshire countryside – I just love visiting Swancar Farm and seeing as I was born and raised in Leicester and identify as a Leicester wedding photographer it’s an easy thirty minutes down the road. I often find myself in Nottingham so I guess you could say I also identify as a Nottingham wedding photographer and Swancar Farm is probably my favourite wedding venue in Nottingham, just don’t tell the rest.

One of the things that immediately strikes you about Swancar Farm is the epic drive up to the farm itself which by extension gives us plenty of photo opportunities we can have couples walking up and down it, and in summer when the cornfield is ripe we can actually get some amazing bridal portraits with the couple in the field on the driveway walking around I’ve even had couples in the cornfield playing around with smoke grenades.

As a documentary wedding photographer who specialises in creative portraiture Swancar farm has lots of opportunities for very intimate and interesting photography. For example there’s two spaces you can choose to get married in upstairs in the threshing barn which is perfect for more intimate ceremonies or in the brand new extension with its quality of life is perfect for larger ceremonies.

In winter the drinks reception is usually held inside but in some arts one car really shines as we’re able to get outside and indulge in garden games and generally have fun in the inner courtyard and make use of the beautiful rolling countryside, which makes creating Swancar Farm Wedding Photography really easy.

The barn itself has the wow factor floor to ceiling windows let in an amazing quality of light and its this space that the venue used for the dining for the speeches and for the most important part the drinking and the partying. There’s also a very handy on site bridal suite with lots of space to get ready and it does make your life a lot easier getting ready on site just in case anything horrible like car failure would make sure that you are late for your own wedding.
